Meet Dr. Ryan Lehmkuhler

Dr. Ryan Lehmkuhler was born and raised in Dodge City, graduating high school in 2004. Ryan attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and graduated as a Chancellor’s Scholar with a perfect cumulative grade point average of 4.0. Ryan was accepted into the University of Nebraska Medical Center Dental College in the Fall of 2007.

Graduating Dental School in May of 2011 Dr. Ryan started a solo practice, renting a chair from Dr. Kelly Henrichs. Constrained by space, in November of 2013. Ryan opened his office at 105 Layton Street. Growth has been a continuous theme as First Dental was formed in 2015 adding the Liberal location in 2019 and Ulysses in 2021 and Garden City in 2022. Dr. Ryan is passionate about providing comprehensive dental care in rural southwest Kansas as it is becoming more difficult to get young local doctors and professionals to stay in the area. He has brought 4 new doctors to the community as well as brought back fellow Dodge City High School graduate, Dr. Sam Taylor.

Continuing education and self-improvement are very important to Ryan completing courses in implant, restorative, cosmetic, orthodontic, endodontic, adult and pediatric sedation, and pediatric and oral pathology among others. Some of the services that Ryan regularly does are implants and implant-retained dentures. This can be life-changing for patients and he enjoys seeing the difference a healthy smile can make in someone’s life. Giving back to the community by providing services to the less fortunate through KanCare and the Kansas Mission of Mercy is very important to Ryan.

His hobbies included movies, music, reading, traveling, and staying active with running and sports.
